‘Familias’ opens on Thursday the 21st of August at 8 p.m., at the exhibition space ‘La Santa Pintada’ in Bracelona, within walking distance from Museu Picasso and the church of Santa Maria del Mar.

The exhibition will be open from 22nd August to 11th September (everyday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.) and shows about twenty new artworks on paper, in the technique of chalcographic monoprint.

Plants and buildings are the members of the ‘Familias’ (Families in spanish) portrayed in the exhibition, images of ‘things’, that are become over the course of time a part of my emotional imagination. Some buildings of cities where I’ve been or lived and the plants and wild grasses growing in the fields or at the side of the street.

The artworks on show portray these familiar beings of my private visual and emotional landscape. They are furthermore a reflection on the theme of repetition and on the little variations that the repetition allows.

‘Familias’ inaugura giovedì 21 agosto 2014 alle ore 20, presso lo spazio creativo ‘La Santa Pintada’ a Barcellona, a due passi dal Museo Picasso e dalla chiesa di Santa Maria del Mar. La mostra, che resterà aperta dal 22 agosto all’11 settembre (tutti i giorni dalle 16 alle 21), presenta una ventina di lavori inediti su carta realizzati con la tecnica del monoprint calcografico.

Son piante ed edifici gli elementi delle familie rappresentate in mostra, immagini di ‘cose’, che sono diventate col tempo parte del mio immaginario affettivo. Gli edifici delle città dove son stata o ho abitato e le piante ed erbe che crescono nei campi o a lato della strada.

Le opere in mostra ritraggono queste presenze familiari del mio panorama visivo e affettivo e sono una riflessione sul tema della ripetizione e delle piccole variazioni che anche nelle ripetizioni trovano spazio.

'I Cento amici del libro' is an association of bibliophiles with only 100 members. The association publishes every year an artist's book. Born in 1939 in Florence, the association I Cento Amici del Libro (The 100 book's Friends) is now in Milan. 

In these about 70 years it has published books where texts of great ancient and contemporary writers (like Tasso, Marco Aurelio, Apuleio, Tacito, Alberti, Poliziano, Machiavelli, Bonvesin de la Riva, Pascoli, Palazzeschi, D’Annunzio, Gozzano, Svevo and many more) dialogue with graphic artworks of visual artists like for example Annigoni, Guttuso, Maccari, Tamburi, Mattioli, Tommasi Ferroni, Ruggero Savinio, Melotti, Minguzzi, Arnaldo Pomodoro, Mimmo Paladino, Walter Valentini, Emilio Isgrò, Pericoli.

Together with other 13 artists, I have been invited by the Association I cento Amici del Libro to create an engraving, inspired by three brief poetries of the poet Annelise Alleva. The exhibition shows the engravings taking part in the prize.

I Cento amici del libro è un'associazione di bibliofili che conta solo 100 soci e che ogni anno realizza un libro d'artista.

Sorta nel 1939 a Firenze, l’Associazione dei Cento Amici del Libro, che ora ha sede a Milano, ha realizzato nei suoi oltre settant'anni di attività libri in cui “dialogano” testi di grandi scrittori del passato e del presente (Tasso, Marco Aurelio, Apuleio, Tacito, Alberti, Poliziano, Machiavelli, Bonvesin de la Riva, Pascoli, Palazzeschi, D’Annunzio, Gozzano, Svevo, e molti altri) e opere grafiche realizzate da artisti, quali Annigoni, Guttuso, Maccari, Tamburi, Mattioli, Tommasi Ferroni, Ruggero Savinio, Melotti, Minguzzi, Arnaldo Pomodoro, Mimmo Paladino, Walter Valentini, Emilio Isgrò, Pericoli, solo per citarne alcuni.

Io e altri 13 artisti siamo stati chiamati dall'Associazione I Cento Amici del Libro a realizzare un'incisione calcografica ispirata da tre poesie brevi della poetessa Annelise Alleva. La mostra presenta le incisioni preparate per il concorso.

Cheap 2014 - Street poster art festival
1st - 10th May 2014, Bologna, Italy


I took part to the open call of Cheap 2014 to street artists, illustrators, graphics for poster on paper. The theme of this edition was 'Green'.

Cheap sticks up the street art posters in four neighborhood of Bologna. The suburban location, the close collaboration with the institutions and the citizens are important assets of Cheap, that bets on the urban regeneration through creativity on paper.

My work for Cheap 2014 is entitled 'interior green' and portrays an interior with a wall paper, decorated with stinging nettles, cigarette butts and empty cans in spite of the usual flowers. The concept of this work is that our ideal of 'Green' is often far away from the 'Green' that we see everyday.

Ho partecipato alla open call di Cheap 2014 rivolta a street artist, illustratori, fotografi e grafici per lavori su carta in formato poster. Il tema di questa edizione era 'Green'.

Cheap opera negli spazi pubblici urbani di 4 diversi quartieri cittadini bolognesi, affiggendo le opere degli artisti partecipanti, scommettendo sulla potenzialità della riqualificazione urbana attraverso l’azione creativa su carta.

Il mio lavoro per Cheap 2014 si intitola' interior green' e ritrae un interno con una carta da parati decorata con ortiche, mozziconi di sigarette e lattine vuote al posto dei 'soliti' fiori. L'idea di questo lavoro è di sottolineare la differenza tra il nostro ideale di 'Green' e il green che ogni giorno esperiamo e viviamo.

The book gives space to the 'views of the city' of visual artists too. At the opening of each chapter, in fact, there are four pages with works of artists.

In chapter four, there are the works that I've done together with the photographer Valerio Donghi. For the two works (entitled Passaggi#1 - via Cletto Arrighi 19 and Passaggi #2 - via Colombo) I've done a digital drawing on the pictures of Valerio.

La guida da ampio spazio all'arte e all'interpretazione della città da parte di alcuni artisti visivi. In apertura di ogni capitolo del libro, infatti, campeggiano a piena pagina lavori fotografici di artisti visivi che hanno reinterpretato la loro città.
In apertura del capitolo quattro ci sono due lavori eseguiti a quattro mani con il fotografo Valerio Donghi (intitolati passaggi#1 - via Cletto Arrighi 19 e Passaggi#2 - via Colombo) in cui ho disegnato in digitale sulle immagini di Valerio.
