Some pictures of the exhibition of the graphic artworks that were created during the two weeks of the International Latgale Graphic Art Symposium are in the Mark Rothko Centre in Latvia. No specific theme was set for the symposium of this year. The artists were given an opportunity to talk about things that are topical to them. This year’s symposium brought together 11 graphic artists from 9 countries focusing on professional conversation and international dialogue in printmaking.

Quest'anno non c'era un tema dato per le opere; gli artisti hanno avuto la possibilità di esprimersi sui temi a loro più cari. Questa edizione del simposio ha riunito 11 artisti da 9 paesi per un confronto professionale sulla grafica d'arte contemporanea internazionale.

The 5th International Latgale Graphic Art Symposium is a great opportunity to work and to talk about printmaking with international artists-printmakers.
During the two weeks of the Symposium we've shown our portfolio, we've got connections with the local artistic and Baltic scene and we've been working at new printartworks for our symposium's exhibition at the Mark Rothko Art Centre. Here you are some pictures of the artists working in the printmaking workshop of the Centre.

Il 5th International Latgale Graphic Art Symposium è stato una grande occasione per lavorare e confrontarsi sulla grafica d'arte oggi con artisti che usano la stampa come mezzo espressivo.
Durante le due settimane di simposio abbiamo mostrato le nostre opere, siamo entrati in contatto con la scena artistica locale e dell'area Baltica e abbiamo lavorato nel laboratorio di grafica per la mostra degli artisti del simposio al Mark Rothko Centre.

Das 5. Internationale Latgale Grafik Art Symposium ist eine wunderbare Gelegenheit, um zu arbeiten und über die zeitgenössische Druckgrafik zu reden.
In dem zweiwöchigen Symposium haben wir uns unsere Portfolien gezeigt, wir haben die lokale und Baltische Kunstszene kennen gelernt und wir haben in der Druckwerkstatt gearbeitet um die Grafiken für die Symposiums Ausstellung im Mark Rothko Centre vorzubereiten.

Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Center in collaboration with Art Teachers’ Union in the framework of Rothko Centre’s Residence Program for the fifth time organize The International Latgale Graphic Art Symposium.
The Graphic Symposium is meeting, discussion and creative work within the cultural space of Latgale, which unites similarly and differently thinking and working graphic artists from Latvia and abroad, whom form of artistic expression is graphic.
The International jury for participation chose 11 participants from 9 countries.

Il Mark Rothko Art Center di Daugavpils in collaborazione con l'unione degli insegnanti d'arte organizza il simposio internazionale di arte grafica della regione del Latgale, nell'ambito del programma di residenza d'artista del centro Mark Rothko. 
Il Graphic Symposium è incontro, discussione e lavoro creativo negli spazi della residenza artistica. E' occasione per mettere a confronto artisti lettoni e internazionali che si esprimono con i vari linguaggi della grafica d'arte. 
La giuria internazionale ha scelto per questa edizione del Simposio 11 partecipanti da 9 paesi.

SMALL PRINT INTERNATIONAL - ATTENBOROUGH ARTS LEICESTER 2016 - UK

Leicester Print Workshop celebrates its 30th Birthday with the Small Print International Exhibition, a Symposium in partnership with Leicester DeMontford University about contemporary artists working in print and a talk&tour in the exhibition.

On show in the Small Print International 150 artworks from artists across the world, that measure no more than 100 square centimeters. The exhibition will be on tour to 6 UK venues during 2016 and 2017, and the first one, from 7th May to 10th July 2016, is the Art Center Attenborough Arts in Leicester.

The artworks on show have been selected by the artists Angela Harding and Wuon-Gean Ho and by Jennifer Ramkalawon, curator of Western Modern and Contemporary Graphic Works, in the department of prints and Drawing of the British Museum.
I show there three of my last relief prints of the series 'American Diary', created during the artist residency at the WSW-Women Studio Workshop in USA.

Il Leicester Print Workshop festeggia il suo trentesimo anniversario con la mostra Small Print International, un Simposio organizzato in collaborazione con l'università DeMontford di Leicester sulla stampa d'arte contemporanea e un talk&tour in mostra.

In mostra a Small Print International 150 opere di artisti di tutto il mondo, che non misurano più di 100 centimentri quadrati. La mostra toccherà, tra il 2016 e il 2017, sei location espositive in Inghilterra e la prima, dal 7 maggio al 10 luglio 2016, è il centro d'arte Attenborough Arts di Leicester.

Le opere in mostra sono state selezionate dalle artiste Angela Harding, Wuon-Gean Ho e da Jennifer Ramkalawon, curatrice di Western Modern and Contemporary Graphic Works, nel dipartimento di prints and Drawing del British Museum.
Io espongo tre stampe a rilievo della serie 'American Diary', realizzate durante la residenza d'artista al WSW-Women Studio Workshop in America.

Leicester Print Workshop feiert sein 30stes Jubiläum mit der Ausstellung Small Print International, mit einem Symposium über zeitgenössische Druck-kunst in der Leicester DeMontford University und mit talk&tour in der Ausstellung.

Die Small Print International zeigt 150 Kunstwerke, die maximal 100 quadrat Zentimeter gross sind, von Künstlern aus aller Welt. Die Ausstellung wird in 2016 und 2017 on tour in sechs englische Locations sein. Die erste Etappe ist von 7. Mai bis 10. Juli 2016 in dem Kunst Zentrum Attenborough Arts in Leicester.

Die Kunstwerke wurden von den Künstlerinnen Angela Harding und Wuon-Gean Ho, und von Jennifer Ramkalawon, Kuratorin von Western Modern and Contemporary Graphic Works, in der Abteilung von Prints and Drawing vom British Museum (London) ausgewält sein.
Ich stelle drei Hochdrücke der Serie 'American Diary', erschöpfte während der Kunst-Residenz bei WSW - Women Studio Workshop in USA, vor.

WOMEN'S STUDIO WORKSHOP - ARTIST IN RESIDENCE - USA 2016

Dal 18 gennaio è iniziata la mia residenza d'artista in America al Women's Studio Workshop, nello stato di New York. Sono stata invitata a stare qui per cinque settimane, lavorando nello studio di incisione e insegnando questa tecnica ai bambini nell'ambito del progetto Art-in-Education Program, che porta l'arte e gli artisti nelle scuole locali.

Women's Studio Workshop è stato fondato nel 1974 da Ann Kalmbach, Tatana Kellner, Anita Wetzel e Barbara Leoff Burge. La sua missione è di offrire uno spazio ed opportunità professionali ad artiste donne, dando voce alla loro visione artistica. Contemporaneamente è attivo per promuovere programmi che crescano il coinvolgimento, la coscienza ed il supporto del pubblico verso le arti visive.

Women's Studio Workshop dispone di attrezzati atelier per la fabbricazione della carta, di serigrafia, tipografia, incisione, rilegatura e creazione di libri d'artista, ceramica, fotografia e 3D Studio. E' inoltre editore di libri d'artista, che potete vedere e comprare anche online qui. C'è anche un blog con tante notizie interessanti.

On January the 18th has begun my Artist residency in America by the Women’s Studio Workshop, in the State of New York. I've been invited to stay here for five weeks, working in the intaglio studio and teaching this technique at the children for the Art-in-Education Program, that brings art and artists in local schools.

Women’s Studio Workshop was founded in 1974 by Ann Kalmbach, Tatana Kellner, Anita Wetzel, and Barbara Leoff Burge. The mission of Women’s Studio Workshop is to operate and maintain an artists’ workspace that encourages the voice and vision of individual women artists, provides professional opportunities for artists at various stages of their careers, and promotes programs designed to stimulate public involvement, awareness, and support for the visual arts.

Women’s Studio Workshop has well-equipped studios of Papermaking, Silkscreen, Letterpress, Etching, Book Arts, Ceramics, Darkroom and 3D Studio. WSW is editor of artists' books (that you can see and buy online here ) and has an interesting blog with news about the activities.

Am 18. Januar hat meine Kunst Residenz in Amerika bei Women's Studio Workshop (Staat von New York) angefangen. Ich wurde eingeladen hier für fünf Wochen zu bleiben, um im Radierung-Atelier zu arbeiten und Kinder Radierung zu lehren, im Rahmen des Projektes Art-in-Education Program, das Kunst und Künstlerinnen in die Schulen bringt.

Women's Studio Workshop wurde im 1974 von Ann Kalmbach, Tatana Kellner, Anita Wetzel und Barbara Leoff Burge gegründet. Sein Auftrag ist einen Arbeitsraum an die Künstlerinnen zu bieten, um ihre Stimme und Vision zu verstärkern und ihnen professionelle Gelegenheiten anzubieten. Gleichzeitig fördert Women's Studio Workshop die Beteiligung und das Bewusstsein des Publikums für die bildenen Künste.

Women's Studio Workshop hat verschiedene Ateliers: Papier, Siebdruck, Typographie, Radierung, Buchbinden, Keramik, Fotografie, 3D Studio. Since 2008 host and art-lover Florian Werner offers artists the opportunity to participate to an 'Artists in residence Programm' in his 5-stars Hospiz Hotel.
During the second week of residence I had the opportunity to know Sofia & Sappone with their 'Untitled Bed In's Projekt'.
The Photos of Sofia & Sappone are inspired by the Bed In´s von Yoko Ono & John Lennon and at the same time an hommage to the Untitled Filmstills of Cindy Shermann.

Alcune immagini dalla mia esperienza di 'Artist in Residence' 2015 nell' Arlberg Hospiz Hotel, in Austria.

Durante la seconda settimana di residenza ho avuto l'opportunità di conoscere Sofia & Sappone e il loro progetto 'Untitled Bed In's'.

Seit dem Winter 2008 bietet Gastgeber Florian Werner von Arlberg Hospiz Hotel Künstlerinnen und Künstlern mit dem Projekt „Hospiz Artist in Residence“ die Möglichkeit zu einem "Kunsturlaub" am Arlberg.
In der zweiten Woche habe ich die Gelegenheit gehabt, Sofia & Sappone mit ihrem Projekt 'Untitled Bed In's' kennen zu lernen. Ihre Fotos sind Selbstportraits angelehnt an die Bed In´s von Yoko Ono & John Lennon und gleichzeitig eine Hommage an die Untitled Filmstills von Cindy Shermann.
