'Free the art' è un evento/mostra di una sera dall'intento provocatorio: Circa 40 artisti internazionali mettono a disposizione del pubblico un'opera a titolo gratuito. Sarà sufficiente scrivere il proprio nome accanto all'opera desiderata e, a fine serata, portarsela a casa. Partecipo alla mostra con una nuovissima stampa della serie 'American Diary' intitolata 'Ann's greenhouse'.

'Free the art' is a provoking event/exhibition during one night only: about 40 international artists give one artwork for free. The visitors put their name next to the piece they'd like to have and take it at the end of the event. I exhibit a brand-new print of the series 'American diary' entitled 'Ann's greenhouse'.

'Free the art' ist eine provozierende Ausstellung, die nur einen Abend dauert: etwa 40 internationale Künstler bieten ein Kunstwerk für frei an. Die Besucher können ihren Namen neben dem ausgewählten Kunstwerk schreiben und es, am ende des Abends, nach Hause mitnehmen. Ich nehme mit dem neuen Druck 'Ann's greenhouse' aus der Serie 'American Diary' teil.

WOMEN'S STUDIO WORKSHOP - ARTIST IN RESIDENCE - USA 2016

Dal 18 gennaio è iniziata la mia residenza d'artista in America al Women's Studio Workshop, nello stato di New York. Sono stata invitata a stare qui per cinque settimane, lavorando nello studio di incisione e insegnando questa tecnica ai bambini nell'ambito del progetto Art-in-Education Program, che porta l'arte e gli artisti nelle scuole locali.

Women's Studio Workshop è stato fondato nel 1974 da Ann Kalmbach, Tatana Kellner, Anita Wetzel e Barbara Leoff Burge. La sua missione è di offrire uno spazio ed opportunità professionali ad artiste donne, dando voce alla loro visione artistica. Contemporaneamente è attivo per promuovere programmi che crescano il coinvolgimento, la coscienza ed il supporto del pubblico verso le arti visive.

Women's Studio Workshop dispone di attrezzati atelier per la fabbricazione della carta, di serigrafia, tipografia, incisione, rilegatura e creazione di libri d'artista, ceramica, fotografia e 3D Studio. E' inoltre editore di libri d'artista, che potete vedere e comprare anche online qui. C'è anche un blog con tante notizie interessanti.

On January the 18th has begun my Artist residency in America by the Women’s Studio Workshop, in the State of New York. I've been invited to stay here for five weeks, working in the intaglio studio and teaching this technique at the children for the Art-in-Education Program, that brings art and artists in local schools.

Women’s Studio Workshop was founded in 1974 by Ann Kalmbach, Tatana Kellner, Anita Wetzel, and Barbara Leoff Burge. The mission of Women’s Studio Workshop is to operate and maintain an artists’ workspace that encourages the voice and vision of individual women artists, provides professional opportunities for artists at various stages of their careers, and promotes programs designed to stimulate public involvement, awareness, and support for the visual arts.

Women’s Studio Workshop has well-equipped studios of Papermaking, Silkscreen, Letterpress, Etching, Book Arts, Ceramics, Darkroom and 3D Studio. WSW is editor of artists' books (that you can see and buy online here ) and has an interesting blog with news about the activities.

Am 18. Januar hat meine Kunst Residenz in Amerika bei Women's Studio Workshop (Staat von New York) angefangen. Ich wurde eingeladen hier für fünf Wochen zu bleiben, um im Radierung-Atelier zu arbeiten und Kinder Radierung zu lehren, im Rahmen des Projektes Art-in-Education Program, das Kunst und Künstlerinnen in die Schulen bringt.

Women's Studio Workshop wurde im 1974 von Ann Kalmbach, Tatana Kellner, Anita Wetzel und Barbara Leoff Burge gegründet. Sein Auftrag ist einen Arbeitsraum an die Künstlerinnen zu bieten, um ihre Stimme und Vision zu verstärkern und ihnen professionelle Gelegenheiten anzubieten. Gleichzeitig fördert Women's Studio Workshop die Beteiligung und das Bewusstsein des Publikums für die bildenen Künste.

‘Impressioni’ è una serie di opere, create ad hoc per la Fondazione Banca Popolare di Lodi, ispirate dai luoghi che ci sono familiari e che sono, a vario titolo, registrati nella nostra memoria. La ripetizione dell’immagine di base interloquisce con i successivi interventi a collage, creando una stratificazione di tracce che ogni volta produce un’impressione diversa. Ogni opera ha quindi una sua precisa identità ma allo stesso tempo è ‘solo’ una variazione sul tema. I lavori sono inoltre stampe su carta (per la precisione si tratta di linoleumgrafie e monoprints calcografici) e quindi, a tutti gli effetti, vere e proprie ‘impressioni’.

'Impressioni' (impressions) is a series of artworks, created for the Fondazione Banca Popolare di Lodi and inspired by places that are 'familiar' and saved in our memory. Every artwork has the same underlying picture but different visual elements glued on it with the technique of collage: the stratification of these different traces/impressions creates, every time, something different. Every artwork has its own identity but it's 'only' a 'variazione sul tema'. Furthermore the artworks are prints on paper (linocuts and monoprints) and for this reason - in effect - real 'impressions'.

'Impressioni' (Eindrücke) ist eine Serie von Kunstwerken, geschaffen für die Fondazione Banca Popolare di Lodi. Familiäre Räume, die in unserem Gedächtnis wohnen, haben mich dazu inspiriert. Das Grundbild ist wiederholt und darauf kommen immer neue Elemente: so entsteht eine Schichtung von Spuren und jedes Mal ein neuer Eindruck. Jedes Kunstwerk hat so eine eigene Identität und ist gleichzeitig 'nur' eine Themenvariation. Die Kunstwerke sind Drucke mit den Techniken Linolschnitt und Monoprint.

Linocut is a quite new technique, appreciated by artists like Picasso and Matisse. Due to its semplicity and spontaneity, the technique allows a wide freedom of expression. During the 4-days Workshop we will print linocuts with one and with many colours. It'll be possible to make a small edition of the print, too.

La linoleumgrafia è una tecnica abbastanza nuova, che è stata molto apprezzata da artisti come Picasso e Matisse.
La tecnica è relativamente facile e molto versatile e per questo motive offre una grande libertà espressiva. Durante il corso di quattro giorni si stamperà a uno e a più colori e ci sarà la possibilità di fare una piccola tiratura.

Linolschnitt ist eine ziemlich neue Technik, die sehr geschätzt von Künstlern wie Picasso und Matisse war. Die Technik ist relativ einfach, sehr vielfältig und deshalb kann man mit ihr sich frei ausdrücken. Während den 4 Tagen von Kurs, werden wir Werke mit einer Platte und mit mehrere Platten vorbereiten und in schwarz-weiss sowie mit mehrere Farben arbeiten. Es wird auch möglich von jeder Werk eine kleine Auflage drucken.
